Azizi Gibson is an artist often overlooked in the world of rap with an up-beat mindfuck vibe that will either grip your soul or make you turn your head. An EP released titled “Backward Books” got pretty popular but not the attention I believe it deserved. With all the mainstream rapping about most the same topics it is nice to see someone that isn’t trying to rep their gang or let their gun go. Songs such as: Smoking With The Gods, Crown Violet and Backwards Books showcase this upbeat, creative sound mixed with the influence of smoking and fuck the police. Another EP is titled “The Last” that can be played through, if you find you like his style, I recommend Claustrophobic.
Azizi has an album that will be coming out titled “Till Death” that plays around the love factor and showcases his feelings and opinions it, three tracks are released so far that all follow his flow and are sick to listen to. He has Waka Flocka featured on one of them that was slightly surprising but I am glad to see Waka going off on something that is out of his main genre. Azizi has done most of his work with a producer, Kamandi, who has a very unique futuristic and upbeat electronic sound. I enjoy the work he does and am excited to see his influence in “Till Death”.
